Adam Bowler
Research Supervisor '25

About Me
Adam Bowler is a medical student at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, where he is expected to graduate in 2029. Prior to medical school, he served as a Clinical Research Supervisor at Boston Bone & Joint Institute, leading and contributing to a broad portfolio of orthopedic research focused on shoulder arthroplasty, particularly reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) and anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA). His work examined surgical outcomes, implant design, biomechanics, and complication management. Adam participated in multicenter investigations through the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Complications of RSA Group, studying risk factors for acromial stress fractures, dislocation, and baseplate failure following reverse shoulder arthroplasty. He also contributed to studies evaluating return to sport after RSA, including outcomes for golfers, swimmers, and weightlifters, as well as comparative analyses of RSA versus TSA in younger patients and those with eccentric glenoid wear.
Adam remains actively involved in orthopedic research and is committed to advancing evidence-based surgical care and improving patient outcomes.
